Run Away Farm Roc
Available for family pet or hunt/racing terrier home

Roc ("Rocket") is a 4-year-old male Jack Russell Terrier in the Charlotte, NC, area. He's a tan & white rough coat. He is neutered, healthy, and up-to-date on all his shots. BAER normal. He gets along fine with other dogs (male or female) but should not be in a home with cats or other small animals (chickens, goats, etc.) due to his very strong prey/hunt drive.

Rocket is a very sweet, friendly, family dog. He is a little clown and loves to play ball, tug, and learn tricks. He's great with older kids. He's crate trained, housebroken, and very well behaved in the house. He loves snuggling on the couch in laps while watching TV. He is not reliable off-leash, but is just fine in a fenced in yard (he does not try to dig or climb out). He's small enough, however, to walk right through the gaps between the railing on my deck, so I did need to reinforce that area with wire fencing.

I raised him from a pup to play flyball (dog sport) but he has trouble focusing when there's a lot of other dogs/movement/noise around, and flyball requires off-lead focus in exactly that kind of environment. I would love for him to go somewhere where he's really appreciated and can do what he does best, whether it's hanging out with a family who adores him or hunting or racing in terrier trials. He's from strong hunt lines and may do very well in the field. He's tiny -- 12 lbs, and barely 13" if even that -- with a very small chest. He may also do well racing, he is leggy for a little guy and very quick. I have his pedigree and JRTCA stud certificate -- since he's neutered he can't be registered with the JRTCA, but he can be recorded (and participate in JRTCA terrier trials).
